Deleting and reinstalling Origin fixed it for only for the first time loading the game after the fresh install.

But I'm not holding my breath, I'm putting my money on, "Sorry, that's EA's problem now."īut here's a summary of my issue: When I load Zuma's Revenge on my iMac running OSX 10.9.5, I get the loading screen with a very laggy cursor, and just over halfway through the loading progress bar, it crashes and closes without any error messages.

I've contacted PopCap support and hopefully they'll get back to me with some suggestions. All they do is see that it isn't listed, say there's nothing they can do, and then tell you to deal with it (Seriously, they said, "We've allowed you to keep the game file in case you ever get it working on your own in the future." Gee, thanks, technical specialist.) Happened with their (paid) iOS SimCity game, and now they're doing it with this. Unfortunately, as it is, EA acquires all these games and then just washes their hands of the technical support. If anyone knows how to do that, that might just solve the problem. It was free, so I really wish I could just play it without Origin getting in the way. Origin is likely creating some buggy preference file for the game, but I could very well be wrong. I figured it was Origin screwing things up, so I disabled Origin in-game. I didn't play it as I was on the line with customer support, so I quit and then loaded it up again a while later only to experience the same problem. The one time I got past the loading screen was when someone advised me to delete and reinstall Origin. I have the exact same problem and have had the issue escalated to EA's "specialists" who only shrugged, said they don't have technical support for it, and issued me a refund on the whopping $0.00 I spent on it.
